Terms of Service
Last updated: July 12, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Jobtab, operated by David Ostrom, a sole proprietor in Kansas (“Jobtab,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account, you agree to them.
1. What Jobtab is
Jobtab is software for tracking jobs, logging hours and materials, and creating quotes and invoices. It is a record-keeping and billing tool. It is not an accountant, a bookkeeper, a lawyer, or a tax advisor, and nothing it produces is professional advice. The numbers on your invoices are the numbers you entered.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything your team members do. Keep your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
3. Your data is yours
You own the business data you put into Jobtab. You grant us only the permission we need to operate the service for you — to store your data, render your documents, and send the emails you ask us to send. We do not claim ownership of your work, your clients, or your photos.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree not to:
- use Jobtab to send spam, or to email people who have not asked to hear from you;
- upload content you have no right to upload;
- attempt to access another organization’s data;
- probe, scan, or attack the service, or attempt to circumvent its limits;
- resell or white-label Jobtab as your own product without our written agreement.
To protect our email domain’s reputation for every customer, outbound email is rate-limited. If your sending pattern looks like abuse, we may suspend sending on your account.
5. Payment
Pricing.Jobtab is offered as a monthly subscription, or as a one-time “founding” purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Founding lifetime purchase. A founding purchase is a one-time payment for continued access to Jobtab for as long as Jobtab operates as a service. It is not a promise that the service will exist forever, and it is not transferable to another person or business. If we discontinue Jobtab, see section 8.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds. Monthly payments are not automatically refunded, but if Jobtab did not do what you reasonably expected in your first 30 days, email us and we will make it right. We would rather refund you than argue with you.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not handle card data. Payment card fees are Stripe’s, not ours; where we ever charge an additional platform fee, it will be shown to you plainly before you agree to it.
Taxes. Sales tax, income tax, and the tax you charge your own customers are yours to handle.
6. Availability
We work to keep Jobtab running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. It runs on third-party infrastructure that can fail. We may take it down for maintenance. Jobtab is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.
Keep your own records. Do not treat Jobtab as your only copy of anything that would hurt to lose.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jobtab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost business, or lost data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim — or, if you made a one-time founding purchase, to the amount of that purchase.
Some states do not allow some of these limitations. Where that is true, they do not apply to you.
8. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Jobtab and close your account at any time. Email support@getjobtab.com and we will delete your account and its data.
We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms — in a serious case immediately, and otherwise after telling you what the problem is and giving you a fair chance to fix it.
If we discontinue Jobtab, we will give you at least 90 days’ notice and a way to export your data before the service stops. If you are a monthly subscriber, you will not be charged again. If you made a founding purchase within the previous 12 months, we will refund it on a pro-rated basis.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Jobtab after that means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kansas.
