Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Jobtab is operated by David Ostrom, a sole proprietor in Kansas (“Jobtab,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

We collect what Jobtab needs to do its job: your account, your business details, and the jobs, clients, hours, materials, photos, quotes and invoices you put into it. We use it to run the product for you. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers. We do not run ad tracking or analytics scripts on you. We never see or store your customers’ card numbers.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, and a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash — we cannot read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or contacts.

Business information you enter. Your business name, trade, phone, address, business email, logo, default rates, tax rate, and payment instructions.

Work data you create. Clients (name, phone, email, address), jobs, time entries, expenses, price-book items, quotes, and invoices. Some of this is information about your customers, which you enter. See “Your customers’ data” below.

Photos. Job photos and receipt photos you upload.

Billing information. If you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment. Stripe sends us a customer identifier and your subscription status. We never receive, see, or store your card number.

Technical logs. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) for security and reliability.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or rent your data. There is no circumstance in which we would.
  • We do not run advertising trackers, ad pixels, or third-party analytics scripts in the app. There is no Google Analytics tag, no Meta pixel, no session recorder.
  • We do not build advertising profiles.
  • We do not read your job data to train AI models.
  • We do not email your clients except when you tell us to (sending a quote, an invoice, or a payment reminder).

Cookies

We set only the cookies required to keep you signed in. They are strictly functional. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you are not being asked to click a cookie banner.

We use Google Search Console to see how getjobtab.com appears in search results. It reports on our own pages; it does not place a tracker on you or collect your behavior.

Where your data lives, and who touches it

Jobtab runs on a small number of vendors (“subprocessors”). Each one is used for one thing:

Supabase (US, us-east-1)

What it does: Database, file storage, authentication

What it can see: Your account and all work data you enter

Vercel (US)

What it does: Application hosting

What it can see: Server logs; data in transit

Stripe (US)

What it does: Subscription payments

What it can see: Your billing details and card data — we never do

Resend (US)

What it does: Sending quotes, invoices, reminders, account email

What it can see: The contents of those emails

Google

What it does: Sign-in, only if you choose it

What it can see: Your email address and name

Data is stored in the United States.

How your data is protected

  • Your data belongs to your organization and is isolated from every other organization at the database level, not merely in application code — a request for another business’s data returns nothing, even if the request is forged.
  • Job and receipt photos are private. They are not publicly reachable by URL and cannot be opened by anyone outside your business. Every photo request is checked against your session and your organization before the image is served.
  • Team members can be given roles that restrict what they see, including hiding pricing and money from field-level members.
  • Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.

Your customers’ data

When you enter a client’s name, address, phone number, or email, that information belongs to your business relationship, not to us. You are the one deciding what to collect from your customers; we are just the filing cabinet. We process it only to provide Jobtab to you: to render your quotes and invoices and to email them to the recipient you specify.

How long we keep things

  • Financial records (quotes, invoices, line items) are retained, not destroyed. A sent invoice is a business record; deleting it would be a bookkeeping failure, not a feature. “Deleted” and “voided” documents are marked as such and kept.
  • Photos you delete are recoverable for 7 days, then permanently purged from storage.
  • Clients and jobs you delete are marked deleted and hidden from your views.
  • If you close your account, contact us and we will delete your account and its data.

Your choices

You can view and edit your business information and your work data in the app at any time. To get an export of your data, or to have your account and data deleted, email support@getjobtab.com and we will do it.

Children

Jobtab is a tool for businesses. It is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email rather than hoping you notice.
